The Bitterroot Valley Community College Foundation

The Bitterroot Valley Community College Steering Committee (BVCC-SC) is currently in the process of establishing the Bitterroot Valley Community College (BVCC) Foundation, which will be dedicated to supporting the establishment and continuance of the Bitterroot Valley Community College.  The BVCC Foundation will champion BVCC advocates, faculty, staff, and students in their pursuit of quality facilities, educational opportunity, and community commitment.

The BVCC Foundation will file articles of incorporation under Montana state law and will secure federal income tax exemption via the Internal Revenue Service.  Incorporation and tax-exemption paperwork is expected to take from four to six months.  Other initial tasks will include board development, writing bylaws, recruiting a volunteer staff, and designing a fundraising plan.  For more on establishing a nonprofit foundation, please visit the Foundation Center website.

Interim Donations - To Donate Now

If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution to the BVCC effort prior to the formal establishment of the BVCC Foundation, you can do so immediately by donating to the BVCC Steering Committee via its fiscal agent, Bitter Root Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D). Bitter Root RC&D is a nonprofit organization dedicated to "conscientious rural development of the area's natural and human resources while maintaining or improving the quality of those resources and the quality of life."   • To offset trustee elect and steering committee travel expenses to Montana Board of Regents meetings and Montana State Legislature proceedings
  • To offset costs associated with holding bimonthly trustee elect meetings
  • To offset expenses associated with keeping the public informed of the progress of the BVCC effort
  • To offset the incorporation and tax-exemption expenses associated with forming the BVCC Foundation
